چکیده
Determination of the optimum sowing window not only can improve maize yield significantly but also fit in existing cropping pattern. To get advantages at time, a study was designed and carried out research field Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute, Rangpur, during 2015–2017. Another aim to forecast for northern western regions using CERES-Maize model. The considered 5 November, 20 December, January as dates identify window. Three hybrid varieties, viz., BARI Hybrid Maize-9 (BHM-9), NK-40, Pioneer30V92 were used. laid split-plot design, assigning main plot varieties sub-plot. yield, daily weather data 2017 subjected run model along with thirty years (1986–2015) data. genetic coefficients tested obtained through calibration by observed 2015–2016 validation 2016–2017. seasonal analysis done DSSAT confirm experimental findings optimizing region (Rangpur) country subsequently adjusted (Jashore). performances satisfactory crop phenology, biomass, grain yield. NRMSE anthesis 0.66% 1.39%, 0.67% 0.89% maturity date, 1.78% 3.89% 1.73% 3.17% biomass Rangpur November December Jashore region. promising forecasting varieties. It gave realistic approximately 45 days prior harvest all results are expected be useful both farmers policy planners meet up future demands.

CERES–Maize Model for Determining the Optimum Planting Dates of Early Maturing Maize Varieties in Northern Nigeria
Field trials were carried out in the Sudan Savannah of Nigeria to assess the usefulness of CERES-maize crop model as a decision support tool for optimizing maize production through manipulation of plant dates. The calibration experiments comprised of 20 maize varieties planted during the dry and rainy seasons of 2014 and 2015 at Bayero University Kano and Audu Bako College of Agriculture Dambat...
متن کاملAn evaluation of yield in "intercropping of maize and potato"
Abstract To find out how maize and potato can grow and develop in an intercropping system rather than each grown alone in a sole cropping system the following factorial experiment was performend in the frame-work of a randomized complete block three replications in the experimental farm of the faculty of agriculture, Zanjan University in year 2004. Different potato to maize ratios of (1:0), i...

in this study, a complex crop model was developed that integrates the various components of swap and csm-ceres-maize (dssat v4.0) model with the purpose of developing a more efficient model and according to the internal requirements. in the hybrid model, ceres-maize supplies swap model with daily leaf area index and root depth and on the other hand swap model supplies ceres-maize with daily wea...
متن کاملEffect of Planting Patterns and Vermicompost on Yield and Yield Components in Maize and Beans Intercropping
Intercropping systems compared to monoculture systems can more efficiently use the existing resources which ultimately will lead to increased plant performance. Therefore, to evaluate the benefits of intercropping maize and beans and assess its impact on yield and yield’s component, an experiment was conducted in factorial design with randomized complete block design in three replication, in 20...
